The role
The Corporate Licensing Sales Development Representative (SDR) is responsible for generating and qualifying new business opportunities to support the growth of ACLED’s corporate licensing revenue.
This is a remote role focused predominantly on outbound prospecting, early-stage client engagement, and pipeline development.
The Sales Development Representative will identify target accounts, engage relevant stakeholders, qualify opportunities, and book meetings for senior members of the corporate licensing team.
The role is performance-driven, and the successful candidate will be held accountable to clearly defined KPIs related to outreach activity, meetings booked, and pipeline contribution. This position reports to the Head of Corporate Licensing.
This position is fully remote and can be done from any location with reliable internet service.
Specific responsibilities
The Sales Development Representative will be responsible for the following tasks:
Prospecting & Pipeline Generation
- Identify, research, and prioritize target corporate accounts across agreed sectors, geographies, and use cases.
- Execute structured outbound prospecting via email, LinkedIn, phone, and other appropriate channels.
- Manage and respond to inbound corporate licensing inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Build a strong understanding of ACLED’s data, products, and commercial use cases to effectively engage prospects.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prospecting activity and interactions in the CRM systems.
Lead Qualification & Early-Stage Sales
- Conduct initial discovery conversations to understand prospect needs, use cases, and decision-making processes.
- Qualify opportunities against agreed internal criteria and assess commercial potential.
- Clearly and confidently communicate ACLED’s value proposition and differentiate it from alternative data providers.
- Book qualified meetings and hand off opportunities to the Head of Corporate Licensing or other senior sales team members.
- Support early-stage deal progression through follow-ups and coordination where appropriate.
Performance & KPIs
- Meet or exceed clearly defined KPIs related to outreach activity, meetings booked, and pipeline contribution.
- Manage time and priorities effectively in a remote working environment.
- Track performance and conversion metrics to support continuous improvement.
- Take ownership of individual targets and contribute to overall corporate licensing revenue goals.
Collaboration & Enablement
- Work closely with the Head of Corporate Licensing to align prospecting efforts with broader sales strategy and priorities.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to leverage campaigns, content, and events for lead generation.
- Coordinate with Analysis and Data teams to ensure accurate and responsible positioning of ACLED’s data.
- Provide feedback on market trends, prospect objections, and competitive dynamics.
Skills and Experience
ACLED is seeking applicants who have the following skills and experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in sales development, business development, or a similar commercial role (B2B preferred).
- Highly motivated and growth oriented.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable working to targets and being measured against clear performance KPIs.
- Organized, proactive,and well suited to work effectively in a remote setting.
- Interest in global affairs, political risk, security, ESG, or data-driven decision-making is an advantage.
- Experience using CRM systems and sales engagement tools is desirable.
Terms and Conditions
- Start Date: February 2026
- Salary Band: 52,000 USD - 56,000 USD/year
