Role Overview:

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is responsible for generating, qualifying, and developing high‑potential sales opportunities while proactively supporting key direct target customers. This role requires someone who is passionate about customer experience, technically curious, and commercially driven. 

  • Daily activities focus on:
  • Supporting and developing direct target accounts
  • Identifying, qualifying, and routing new opportunities
  • Engaging decision makers in key market verticals
  • Expanding IMI’s presence within existing customers

This role works closely with Key Account Managers to accelerate growth and strengthen the customer journey within Industrial Automation and Fluid Control.

Work Environment: Remote

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive funnel development through proactive outreach (email, phone, LinkedIn, virtual meetings).
  • Generate and qualify new sales leads within assigned target accounts and market segments.
  • Collaborate with Key Account Managers to progress opportunities and provide a world‑class customer experience.
  • Support annual and periodic business reviews, assisting with sales planning and KPI development.
  • Achieve activity and pipeline targets related to outbound outreach, qualified opportunities, and funnel progression.
  • Build long‑term relationships and identify areas for customer growth or cross‑sell.
  • Monitor customer trends, new applications, and emerging needs in Industrial Automation.
  • Maintain accurate, timely data within CRM (Salesforce) and ERP systems—logging calls, meeting reports, opportunities, leads, and follow‑ups.
  • Assist with product recommendations, quoting coordination, and facilitating early-stage technical discussions.
  • Participate in the deployment of the direct growth strategy for KAM’s

 

Critical Competencies for Success:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related fields or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in Sales or Sales support roles required.
  • Proficiency with CRM, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Collaborative and excellent communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license & the ability to operate a motor vehicle.

 

Pay range: $27-$29/hr

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.

Bonus eligibility: This position is also eligible for a variable incentive pay component, separate from base salary.
