We are seeking a Safety Officer to support construction projects across Stafford, VA and Manassas, VA, with a strong preference for candidates based in or near the Stafford area. This role is well suited for a safety professional with experience in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) environments, particularly those who have supported data center construction projects. Key responsibilities include: Monitor field personnel and partner with safety and project leadership to maintain established safety standards Conduct routine onsite safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements Provide safety training related to PPE usage, equipment operation, hazard mitigation, and general jobsite safety Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and collaborate on corrective actions Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety standards aligned with federal, state, and local regulations Generate and maintain documentation related to inspections, trainings, investigations, and corrective actions Assist with drafting AHAs, PTPs, safety plans, and other required safety documentation Provide comprehensive safety coverage for assigned jobsites and projects Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to promote a strong safety-first culture Preferred qualifications: OSHA 30 certification (required, documentation needed) Additional certifications such as First Aid/CPR/AED, Fall Protection, MEWP (aerial/scissor lift), Forklift, Confined Space, Excavation/Trenching, Rigging and Signaling, or the ability to train others in these areas 1–4 years of experience in a safety role, with preference given to candidates with large-scale commercial construction experience Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard mitigation strategies, and risk management practices Experience leading safety trainings and conducting incident investigations Experience preparing AHAs, PTPs, and similar safety documentation Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and with project partners High school diploma or equivalent; additional education is a plus Bilingual skills are highly desirable
