Robotics Engineer Intern

At IKH, we believe in investing in young talent and providing valuable opportunities for growth and development. We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join us as a Robotics Engineer Intern.

As a Robotics Engineer Intern at iKnowHow, you will work with ROS1/ROS2, simulation environments, sensor integration and hands‑on testing on both outdoor ground robots and magnetic climbing robots for marine applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in software development using ROS1/ROS2
  • Implement tools and prototypes in Python/C++
  • Participate in Gazebo/Ignition simulation development (sensors, plugins, robot models)
  • Support bring‑up, calibration and testing on ground robots and robotic crawlers
  • Work with launch files, topics, TFs and ROS tools
  • Contribute through Git, documentation and testing reports


Requirements

  • Student in Robotics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related field (internship grant needed)
  • Good knowledge of C++ or Python
  • Familiarity with Linux and basic ROS concepts
  • Interest in mobile robots, marine robotics, autonomy and navigation

Nice to have:

  • ROS1/ROS2 project experience
  • Simulation experience (Gazebo/Ignition)
  • Understanding of odometry, LiDAR/camera sensors, or skid steering wheeled robotic systems
