Manage school health through patient screenings, medication dispensing, and wellness program development while collaborating closely with students and families.
- Screen patients for hearing and eyesight issues
- Evaluate patients who complain of specific ailments
- Call parents to suggest they pick up patients who might be uncomfortable or who might have developed a contagious illness
- Educate students on hand washing, germs and other health care and safety issues
- Examine and authenticate vaccination records
- Monitor and dispense prescription medications based on instructions from parents and physicians
- Contact parents and teachers with any medical emergency
- Develop and manage school health and wellness program
- Maintain files on each student's health and medical history
