Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to manage and lead the Risk Assistant team who arrange a smooth workflow for the Risk Department (Conflicts and AML teams), Business Services teams (Finance, IT etc) and lawyers with their secretaries concerning the Firms new business intake and maintenance.

Th Risk Assistant team are the first point of contact in the New Business Intake process, ensuring the requests contain sufficient information to facilitate the assessment of the request in the conflict assessment and AML checks of the process.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Representing the Risk Europe team in the role of Risk Assistant Team Leader guiding the Risk Assistant as they serve as the gateway to the regional risk team and first point of contact for lawyers as well as business support professionals.
  • Coordinating with the Risk and AML Team Leaders in relation to common issues identified coming to or from Risk, inputting into the Risk departments development of improvements, liaison of the Risk Assistants to the EDS team.
  • Closely collaborating with lawyers and legal assistants with respect to requests addressed to Risk Europe team, providing guidance on the request submission process, outstanding information, and documentation, amending client and matter records, and conducting basic checks on provided information.
  • Conducting assigned tasks such as managing and monitoring of a shared Risk Europe email inbox, AML inbox, responding to email inquiries, setting priorities on incoming requests, and notifying the team, providing status updates, supporting the team in basic anti-money laundering searches, and checks on corporations.
  • Management of information within internal systems including Information Barriers, clone requests, third party payor enquiries amongst others.
  • Providing system support to conflicts, AML, and other team as admins of the Intapp Open and SharePoint risk wiki.
  • Supporting the team and risk management on ad hoc tasks such as involvement in training of legal assistants, technology upgrades etc.

Requirements

  • Very good command of English – both written and spoken
  • Good command of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Strong communication and resilience skills, dealing confidently, competently, and diplomatically with various stakeholders worldwide by email and telephone
  • Ability to work as part of an international multicultural team
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, manage a high-volume workload and prioritize
  • Ability to work pro-actively, with minimal supervision and apply common sense
  • Efficient time management, delivery of work to a consistently high standard and to deadlines
  • Prior experience working with law firms/professional services firms is a plus.
