Position: School Operations Lead
Location: RISE Academy, San Jose, California (in-person)
School Year: 2026–2027
Employment Type: Full-Time
Optional: Up to 25% teaching responsibilities (based on campus needs and candidate background)
RISE Academy is seeking a highly organized, execution-driven School Operations Lead to own and strengthen the day-to-day systems that keep our campus running smoothly. This role is responsible for core school operations—people, processes, logistics, compliance, and schoolwide coordination—so that teachers can teach and students can thrive. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who builds and maintains clear systems, follows through relentlessly, and leads with professionalism and care.
This role may include supervising operational staff and managing managers responsible for key functions. Responsibilities may expand based on campus needs and the candidate’s strengths.

Key Responsibilities
A. Campus Operations and Systems
- Own daily campus operations, ensuring smooth execution of routines, schedules, supervision coverage, and operational protocols
- Maintain accurate school, staff, and student records, data systems, and required documentation
- Develop, document, and continuously improve campus systems, procedures, and workflows to increase clarity, consistency, and accountability
- Coordinate cross-campus logistics (supplies, materials, vendor services, facilities usage, and operational readiness)
- Serve as the central point of coordination for campus operations, ensuring timely resolution of issues and strong follow-through on priorities
B. People Leadership
- Train, guide, and support staff on operational procedures, safety protocols, and school systems
- Coordinate staffing logistics and coverage needs in collaboration with school leadership
- Support operational components of onboarding, training, and professional development
- Provide oversight and accountability for managers responsible for operational domains as applicable, including goal-setting, execution, and performance follow-through
C. Facilities and Transportation Oversight (as assigned)
- Oversee campus facilities operations in coordination with facilities staff/vendors, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment
- Coordinate transportation systems and logistics where applicable (routes, schedules, vendor coordination, and parent communication)
- Maintain operational readiness for emergency procedures, drills, and campus safety protocols
D. Schoolwide Logistics for Events and Programs
- Plan and execute operational logistics for meetings, events, and schoolwide initiatives, including scheduling, communications, setup, and follow-through
- Coordinate calendars and operational details across departments to ensure excellent family and student experience
E. Oversight of Key Organizational Functions (as assigned)
Depending on campus structure and staffing, responsibilities may include overseeing the managers / coordinators responsible for the following functions, ensuring alignment, accountability, and operational excellence:
- Admissions (process execution, enrollment systems, family communications, events logistics)
- Marketing and Communications (coordination of schoolwide messaging and timelines; quality control and execution support)
- Fundraising and Development (event logistics, coordination support, donor communications systems)
F. Compliance, Safety, and Risk Management
- Support adherence to all school policies, procedures, and applicable local/state/federal regulations
- Coordinate and monitor campus safety systems: supervision plans, visitor procedures, emergency preparedness, and documentation
- Conduct ongoing observation and evaluation of operational procedures to strengthen compliance, safety, and consistency
G. Optional Teaching Responsibilities (Up to 25%)
- If assigned, plan and deliver instruction with appropriate differentiation and accommodations aligned with student learning needs
- Support an inclusive classroom culture and collaborate with teachers and leadership on student support as needed
Qualifications (Required)
- Degree in Education, Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience demonstrating readiness for the role)
- Proven experience in school administration, operations, or organizational leadership with responsibility for systems and execution
- Strong technology fluency (Google Workspace/Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, databases/SIS platforms) and comfort learning new tools; experience with basic design/communication tools (e.g., Canva) is a plus
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal judgment when working with students, staff, and families
- Outstanding organizational and project-management ability; able to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and follow-through
- Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
- Alignment with RISE Academy’s mission and comfort working in a faith-based school environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing staff or managing managers in an operational setting
- Experience overseeing facilities operations, transportation logistics, or vendor management
- Knowledge of school administrative processes, compliance requirements, and student information systems
- Post-graduate degree in a relevant field (preferred but not required)
- Experience supporting admissions, marketing, communications, or fundraising operations in a school or nonprofit setting
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to move throughout campus to support daily operations, supervision, and events
- Ability to occasionally lift/carry up to 20 pounds (materials, supplies, equipment)
- Frequent use of a computer/keyboard and standard office equipment
- Occasional evening/weekend work for school events or peak operational periods may be required
Compensation
Compensation is commensurate with experience, scope of responsibilities, academic degrees, and relevant certifications. Children of staff members may be eligible for tuition discounts.
