Position Information

Position: ECE Administrator / Supervisor
Location: RISE Academy, San Jose, California (in-person)
School Year: 2026–2027

RISE Academy is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Education (ECE) Administrator / Supervisor to lead and strengthen our ECE program for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is responsible for the overall quality, compliance, and day-to-day operations of the ECE program, including staff leadership, program systems, licensing alignment, curriculum oversight, family partnership, and enrollment support.


The ideal candidate is a warm, highly organized leader who can set high expectations, coach teachers, ensure licensing compliance, and create an engaging, developmentally appropriate early learning experience aligned with RISE Academy’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership and Staff Management

  • Select, onboard, and manage ECE personnel, setting clear expectations and supporting high-quality performance
  • Coach and support teachers through regular feedback, observation, modeling, and professional development
  • Build a positive, collaborative team culture grounded in professionalism, care, and accountability
  • Coordinate staffing coverage, schedules, and classroom assignments to ensure safe ratios and strong supervision

Licensing, Compliance, and Operations

  • Ensure ECE compliance with all applicable laws, licensing regulations, and school policies (documentation, ratios, safety, and reporting requirements)
  • Implement, monitor, and continuously improve ECE policies, procedures, and daily operational systems
  • Attend to operational details of the ECE program, including routines, supervision plans, facility readiness, and supplies/materials
  • Maintain systems for accurate recordkeeping and required documentation for students, staff, and program compliance
  • Provide regular reports and updates to school leadership regarding program health, staffing, compliance, and improvement priorities

Academic Quality and Curriculum Oversight

  • Oversee academic matters to ensure curriculum remains developmentally appropriate, relevant, and rigorous
  • Ensure instruction is aligned with the school’s pedagogy standards and supports holistic child development (social-emotional, language, cognitive, physical, and spiritual growth)
  • Support consistent assessment and documentation of child progress and classroom quality indicators

Professional Development and Program Improvement

  • Plan, deliver, and/or coordinate professional development for ECE staff
  • Create systems for continuous improvement through observation cycles, reflection, training, and action planning
  • Stay current on early childhood best practices and licensing updates and translate them into staff training and program systems

Family Partnership and Enrollment Support

  • Ensure a balanced, rewarding, opportunity-filled student experience and a high-quality family experience
  • Support family communication systems and customer service standards, including proactive communication and issue resolution
  • In coordination with designated admissions/marketing staff, contribute to enrollment growth through recruitment targets, family tours/events support, and retention-focused program quality
  • Support ECE recruitment and enrollment initiatives by coordinating logistics and ensuring strong program readiness for prospective families

Budget and Resource Management (as assigned)

  • Support ECE budgeting and resource planning, including purchasing, inventory, and efficient use of program materials
  • Ensure responsible use of personnel, time, and resources to support program quality and sustainability


Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Development, Education, or a closely related field
  • 2+ years of experience in an early childhood education setting (teaching and/or leadership)
  • Solid understanding of state licensing standards and demonstrated ability to lead staff in meeting licensing requirements
  • Strong knowledge of child development, curriculum design, and early childhood pedagogy
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills; able to build systems and manage day-to-day program operations
  • Strong customer service and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Comfort with budgeting, operational planning, and coordination of program resources
  • Strong technology skills and appreciation for technology as a tool for efficient administration (Google Workspace/Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, recordkeeping systems; Canva or similar tools a plus)
  • Willingness to receive training and continue professional growth in support of school needs
  • Physically agile and energetic; able to work both indoors and outdoors and support active supervision needs
  • Alignment with RISE Academy’s mission and comfort working in a faith-based school environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field
  • Prior experience supervising staff and/or managing managers in an early childhood program
  • Experience leading licensing visits, compliance audits, or documentation systems
  • Experience supporting enrollment growth, marketing programs, and/or family recruitment efforts in an ECE setting


Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Ability to move throughout the campus and classrooms, including frequent walking, standing, bending, and active supervision
  • Ability to occasionally lift/carry up to 20 pounds (materials, supplies, classroom resources)
  • Ability to work outdoors during supervision and events in varying weather conditions
  • Frequent use of a computer/keyboard and standard office equipment
  • Occasional evening/weekend availability for family events, trainings, or peak enrollment periods may be required


Compensation

Compensation is based on credentials, relevant experience, academic degrees, and certifications. Children of staff members are eligible for tuition discounts.
