 We’re looking for a Ripening Supervisor to join our team in, Edinburg, Texas.

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, the Ripening Supervisor will assist in leading the day-to-day ripening operations within our Texas warehouse. This role plays a critical part in ensuring optimal ripening of products, consistent quality standards, and efficient warehouse coordination from intake to dispatch. The ideal candidate has a solid background in produce handling, quality assessment, and temperature/humidity control systems used in ripening processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain ripening room systems to ensure consistent, timely ripening in accordance with customer specifications and quality standards.
• Monitor and regulate all ripening parameters, including temperature, humidity, and ethylene exposure, to achieve optimal product outcomes.
• Track and report performance against established quality and technical KPIs, ensuring continuous alignment with operational goals.
• Inspect product condition at intake, throughout the ripening process, and prior to dispatch; identify issues and communicate findings to the appropriate sales manager.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation of ripening cycles, product condition, and inventory movement to support traceability and compliance.
• Provide timely updates on ripening progress and prepare final outbound quality inspection reports for internal stakeholders.
• Conduct shelf-life assessments and accelerated ripening trials, analyze data, and report results to support quality and process improvements.
• Identify and report recurring quality trends at the supplier level to support sourcing and procurement decisions.
• Train and support warehouse personnel in best practices for handling, storing, and managing ripening products to preserve quality and minimize waste.
• Ensure adherence to all food safety, sanitation, and operational protocols within the warehouse environment.
• Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned by the Ripening Manager or Regional Operations Manager.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in produce ripening or quality control, preferably with products such as avocados.
• Strong understanding of ripening room equipment and post-harvest processes.
• Experience with temperature, humidity, and ethylene monitoring and adjustments.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally with warehouse, quality, and sales teams.
• Basiccomputerproficiency, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook; ability to enter and manage data accurately.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is highly desirable.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.
