Human Interest is on a mission to ensure that people in all lines of work have access to retirement benefits.

More than half of all working Americans are not saving enough for their future. Too often, it’s because they are employed by a company that doesn’t offer a retirement plan. Human Interest is changing that by making it affordable and accessible for small and medium-sized businesses to offer employees a path to financial independence through retirement savings.

We’re a high-growth fintech company changing the retirement industry. We are backed by a number of investors. This includes funding from Marshall Wace and Baillie Gifford, as well as top investors such as BlackRock, TPG (The Rise Fund), SoftBank, Glynn Capital, NewView Capital, USVP, Wing, Uncork, and more.

About the role

We seek a proactive, adaptable, and self-starting Revenue Program Manager with a strong delivery record and proven program management experience to own strategic, tactical, and cross-functional programs within the Revenue organization. Unlike a traditional project manager, the Program Manager is expected to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) who can dive deep into their programs to understand technical and operational nuances. You will manage overarching programs and the various individual projects that relate to them, ensuring they align with broader business goals. Reporting to the Director, Revenue Programs, this role will own the strategy and implementation of high-level initiatives that enable our business to exceed growth targets and expand faster.

What you get to do every day

  • Program Ownership & SME Leadership: Manage a portfolio of complex programs and their related projects, serving as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the specific functional areas you oversee.
  • Process Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive, easy-to-follow process documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the programs you manage.
  • Strategic Execution: Lead your programs by defining clear long-term roadmaps, driving program-specific meetings, and tactically guiding teams to deliver goals while managing the interdependencies between related projects.
  • Full Program Life Cycle: Own the entire program life cycle, from high-level strategy and initiation to the successful deployment and maintenance of multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Use your deep domain expertise to understand business problems, automation limitations, and scaling factors, proactively mitigating risks before they impact the program.
  • Reporting & Governance: Develop, implement, and govern KPI reporting for your program portfolio, providing senior leadership with visibility into milestones and performance across all related projects.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Identify and bridge gaps between teams, processes, and systems, ensuring that project-level work supports the overall program strategy.
  • Other duties as assigned by the business.

What you bring to the role

Experience & Skills

    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or related field.
    • 7+ years of proven experience in a program management role, with a track record of managing both overarching programs and their individual component projects.
    • Excellent organizational, project, and time management skills; can juggle and prioritize multiple tasks with varying deadlines and stakeholders without dropping the ball.
    • Expert-level knowledge of Agile Methodology and experience using large data sets to measure program-level outcomes.
    • Strong ability to streamline and explain complex issues through clear, easy-to-follow process documents.
    • Proven ability to dive deep into a specific area and function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), fully understand the project, and make informed decisions, rather than just acting as a process driver.
    • Strong ability in leading virtual planning and project meetings with colleagues of varying leadership levels to build consensus and influence to drive projects forward.

Technical Proficiency

    • Expert in the use of Google Suite and MS Office Suite applications and proficient in utilizing web-based tools (i.e., Zoom, GoogleMeet, MS Teams).

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

    • Interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills with adaptability to meet changing demands.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to streamline and explain complex issues to gain understanding and alignment.

Work Ethic & Adaptability

    • Meticulous attention to detail, consistently ensuring high-quality, polished deliverables and identifying discrepancies with a keen eye in process and data.
    • A self-starting attitude and desire to learn new programs and systems and widen your knowledge base about the retirement industry and our product.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth software company where change is a constant.
    • A "people-first" approach, passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences and being a part of a positive, high-performing team culture where psychological safety and results go hand-in-hand.

Problem Solving & Initiative

    • Self-starter, problem-solver and strong bias for action.
    • A proactive, problem-solving mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational scalability.
    • Ability to anticipate challenges, identify next steps, and take initiative to drive projects forward without constant direction.
    • Strong ability to navigate challenges, unexpected issues, and varying departmental priorities with a resilient and adaptable approach.
