Role Overview

The Revenue Management Accountant plays a key role in managing the financial integrity of project revenue across the EMEA region. This position ensures accurate, compliant, and timely revenue recognition under the percentage-of-completion (POC) methodology, using inputs such as timesheets and third-party direct costs, and serves as a Client Finance Manager for all revenue-related items. Working closely with Project Managers, Client Services, and Operations, you’ll translate project activity into accurate financial results, ensuring that both creative and commercial teams have visibility into project performance. You’ll also mentor a Junior Accountant and contribute to continuous improvement in revenue reporting processes and systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Lead the full revenue recognition process across multiple EMEA entities.
  • Apply percentage-of-completion (POC) methodology using time, cost, and project progress inputs.
  • Review timesheets and supplier costs to ensure accurate revenue accruals and forecasts.
  • Maintain WIP, deferred revenue, and accrued income schedules.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly revenue reports highlighting variances, risks, and key movements.
  • Identify opportunities to refine and streamline revenue recognition processes.
  • Support ERP and project management system enhancements (e.g., NetSuite, OpenAir).
  • Ensure strong documentation and audit trails for all revenue-related workflows.
  • Review project profitability and WIP balances; recommend corrective actions where needed.
  • Support accurate billing and ensure alignment between operational and financial systems.
  • Manage intercompany revenue allocations for multi-studio projects.
  • Line manage and support the development of a Junior Accountant.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations and Commercial teams to enhance financial performance and processes.
  • Deliver monthly revenue reports, KPIs, and variance analyses to senior leadership.
  • Build tools and dashboards to improve visibility into revenue and project performance.
  • Support financial planning and forecasting cycles.
  • Assist with onboarding newly acquired businesses into revenue processes and policies.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualification (or part-qualified) preferred.
  • 4–7 years’ accounting experience, ideally with exposure to revenue or project accounting.
  • knowledge of POC revenue recognition and international accounting standards.
  • Experience analysing timesheets, project data, and supplier costs for revenue calculation will be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with project-based ERP systems (NetSuite or similar).
  • Advanced Excel skills; Power BI or similar analytics tools a plus.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Salary Pay Range
