Revenue Accounting Manager

The Role:

As an integral part of the Finance and Accounting Department, the Revenue Accounting Manager will be primarily responsible for ensuring the revenue month-end process gets completed accurately and on time.  This position will have a senior staff accountant reporting to them.  Being part of a hyper-growth company will also require this position to develop and enforce appropriate internal controls.  As a partner to the Controller, you will be an integral part of the financial audits, working directly with our outside auditors.

Scope of Responsibilities 

• Perform and review daily operational revenue transactions and processes
• Develop and maintain accurate financial records to ensure compliance with the Company’s policies and internal controls
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements for internal review
• Develop analyses and reporting surrounding Fetch’s rewards points
• Develop internal controls around revenue accounting as well as rewards points
• Maintain appropriate accounting records for revenue recognition, including completion of ASC 606 analyses for new revenue contracts and/or revenue streams
• Interact with Sales, Legal, Billing, A/R, and IT teams to proactively review contract changes/negotiations and determine revenue recognition impact
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for all revenue-based accounts
• Participate in interactions with external auditors related to revenue-based accounts
• Assist in researching and documenting various accounting topics
• Perform hands-on monthly processes per accounting’s close schedule

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 6-8 years of experience working in a fast-paced high demand accounting department
• Strong working knowledge of Excel
• Subject matter expert in US GAAP
• Experience with NetSuite preferred but not required
• Attention to detail
• Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
• Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to think creatively, highly driven, and self-motivated
• Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity
• Strong analytical skills, ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member, detail oriented, good communications skills
• Strong leadership skills required
• Position can be remote, but will need to reside in the Chicago (IL) or Birmingham (AL) area

Compensation:
