A retail employer is seeking a Retail Supervisor for its Bloomington, MN location. The Retail Supervisor supports store leadership in the effective operation of the store and provides guidance to associate-level team members. This role helps ensure strong customer experiences, high store standards, and efficient execution of daily operations. The position also plays a key role in driving sales results, supporting merchandising initiatives, and fostering a collaborative team culture.
Responsibilities
- Provide training and coaching to associates to support customer engagement, product recommendations, and effective use of product knowledge.
- Ensure associates introduce customers to loyalty programs and encourage customer feedback.
- Support store leadership with merchandising directives, timely product replenishment, visual presentation, and overall store cleanliness.
- Supervise assigned department areas and drive sales through understanding customer needs, product knowledge, and visual merchandising execution.
- Communicate product needs, challenges, and updates to store leadership.
- Collaborate with store leadership to ensure adherence to operational procedures and company policies.
- Assist in resolving operational issues as they arise.
- Promote a positive, team-oriented store culture and uphold professional standards.
Requirements
- No specific education required (High School Diploma or GED preferred).
- 2–5 years of experience in retail or a related role.
- Experience using inventory systems, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and other retail software tools.
- Ability to use sound judgment to resolve routine operational issues.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with leadership, associates, and customers.
- Ability to frequently move throughout the store environment and lift/move items up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work with store equipment and tolerate occasional exposure to dust and noise.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, seasonal demands, and local regulations.
- Ability to communicate clearly with others.
