Position Summary:
Swiftly is seeking a high-performing Audience Optimizer (AO) Renewal Director to lead the retention, expansion, and strategic growth of our existing grocery retailer partnerships across all accounts. This role is responsible for driving renewals, increasing investment levels, and maximizing long-term customer value through thoughtful campaign planning and performance optimization.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in the grocery retail ecosystem, a strong understanding of promotional strategy and merchandising calendars, and hands-on experience operating as an agency partner to retail clients. This individual will partner closely with retailers to develop data-driven media strategies that align with their business objectives, leveraging Audience Optimizer to drive measurable sales impact and sustained engagement.
This role requires a consultative, relationship-first approach—translating performance insights into actionable recommendations, guiding ongoing campaign strategy, and proactively identifying opportunities to optimize and grow investment over time. The AO Renewal Director will collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Account Management, Analytics, and Product teams to ensure seamless execution, strong performance, and continuous innovation across the portfolio.
This role reports to the SVP, Retail and plays a critical role in strengthening customer retention, scaling AO adoption, and driving incremental revenue across Swiftly’s entire retailer base.
Responsibilities Include:
Own the end-to-end renewal lifecycle for Audience Optimizer (AO) across Swiftly’s full retailer portfolio in collaboration with the assigned Sales Director
Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive retention, increased investment, and long-term growth
Act as a consultative agency partner to retailers—aligning AO strategy with promotional calendars, merchandising priorities, and business objectives
Lead campaign planning in partnership with retailers, including audience strategy, budget allocation, flighting, and channel mix recommendations
Translate performance data and closed-loop measurement insights into clear, actionable optimization strategies and renewal narratives
Proactively identify opportunities to expand AO adoption, increase budgets, and introduce incremental use cases (e.g., seasonal campaigns, conquesting, loyalty growth)
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including marketing, merchandising, and executive leadership
Lead renewal conversations, including business case development, performance storytelling, and commercial negotiations
Partner cross-functionally with Account Management, Analytics, Ad Ops, and Product teams to ensure successful campaign execution and continuous improvement
Monitor campaign performance trends and provide strategic guidance to improve outcomes and drive incremental sales impact
Maintain accurate forecasting for renewals and growth opportunities, ensuring visibility into revenue retention and expansion
Serve as a subject matter expert on AO, retail media strategy, and grocery promotional dynamics
Identify risks to renewal early and develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuity and prevent churn
Other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in grocery retail, retail media, digital advertising, or account management with a strong focus on renewals and customer growth
Deep understanding of grocery retail operations, including promotional strategy, merchandising cycles, and digital circulars
Experience operating in a consultative or agency-style role, managing ongoing client relationships and campaign strategy
Strong knowledge of retail media, including audience targeting, media planning, and performance measurement (onsite and offsite)
Experience analyzing campaign performance and translating insights into strategic recommendations that drive measurable outcomes
Proven ability to lead renewal and expansion conversations, including building business cases and influencing investment decisions
Strong understanding of first-party data, loyalty ecosystems, and closed-loop measurement methodologies
Demonstrated ability to engage and influence cross-functional stakeholders, including executive leadership
Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder client relationships in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex data into clear narratives
Proficiency in Salesforce and forecasting tools

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with or within grocery retailers, particularly in marketing, merchandising, or media strategy roles
Background in retail media networks, digital circulars, or shopper marketing
Familiarity with loyalty programs and retail data infrastructure
Experience driving annual or multi-quarter media planning with measurable performance outcomes
Strong understanding of seasonal retail trends and category-level promotional dynamics
