Retail Ops Analyst

TLDR

Own the day-to-day execution of retail electricity operations while analyzing data to optimize processes and support business growth and operational excellence.

About David Energy

David Energy is creating a new kind of power company. We offer cheaper and cleaner energy than traditional Retail Electricity Providers (REPs) can, and we do so economically because we can tap into renewable supply (e.g. solar) and controllable capacity (e.g. batteries) anywhere it exists, including "behind" customers’ electricity meters. We’re a series A company aiming to run the grid on clean energy 24/7/365.

We’re rapidly scaling our "Beat the Utility" product which guarantees small commercial customers that their total electric spend will be less than their incumbent utility. We can make this guarantee because our technology and risk management unlock value that is not available to the utility. We're currently operating in NYC (NYISO Zone J) and scaling toward hundreds of new customer locations per month, with plans to expand to additional zones and ISOs across the Northeast.

Retail energy experience is required for this role.

We are seeking a full-time Retail Operations Analyst to join our team and own the day-to-day execution of our retail electricity business. • Communicate directly with customers via email and phone as needed.

    • Collaborate with and respond to ad hoc requests within the organization.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field, or four (4) years directly relevant experience in the energy industry in lieu of degree.

    • 2+ years of experience in the retail energy industry; ideally supporting commercial customer products and accounts (B2B) in electricity supply operations or market operations within NYISO, PJM, and/or NEISO; ERCOT experience is a plus.

    • Deep understanding of retail electricity operations in regulated markets, including billing, settlements, enrollment, usage data, EDI transactions, and market-facing workflows.

    • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, or similar tools. Experience with advanced data analysis tools such as SQL or Tableau is a plus.

    • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data integrity, accuracy, and quality in analysis, reporting, and audit processes.

    • Ability to think both analytically and strategically, connecting day-to-day operational work to broader business and customer outcomes.
