Your Job:
We believe in the power of movement and the running community. Brooks Brand Retail is more than a retail space - it’s a hub for connection, performance, and purpose. We deliver premium products and best-in-class service to runners of all levels, and we bring that to life through strong visual merchandising, authentic storytelling, and community events.
The Retail Marketing Manager, China is the leader of our Brand Retail Experience & Performance. You’ll be responsible for the marketing playbook surrounding grand openings and seasonal activation to deepen local engagement, drive foot traffic, and reinforce the brand’s leadership in performance running.

Job Responsibilities:
Community Engagement & Events (40%)
Lead the development and own the creation and execution of a calendar of community events, including grand openings, training groups, wellness workshops, product trials, Brooks Run Club activities, and seasonal activations – by collaborating cross functionally to maximize brand impact and community engagement.
Lead the establishment and cultivation of partnerships with local run clubs, KOCs, fitness influencers, and community organizations to amplify event impact and store visibility.
Serve as planning lead for all events—ensuring smooth logistics, high energy, and strong representation of our brand values.
Gather customer and team feedback to draw insights and make recommendations to continuously improve event experiences.
Local Marketing & Brand Advocacy (20%)
Champion the Brooks-stores with landlords and leasing team through innovative grassroots marketing to ensure their support for our brand retail presence on their properties.
Work closely with the regional and HQ marketing teams to localize campaigns and product launches.
Lead the planning and execution of events leveraging local brand ambassadors, running leaders, and athlete advocates.
Act as the in-market expert on what resonates locally delivering insights on trends, competitor activity, and community needs.
Content & Communication (20%)
Own the development, tactical planning and execution of compelling, local-first social media content (in partnership with the Social & Digital Manager + PR/Comms & Events Manager) to promote events, tell community stories, and spotlight store experiences.
Own digital outreach and local event promotion strategies with a focus on conversion and attendance through work with the CRM team.
Gather and share content (photos, testimonials, short videos) that reflect the vibrancy of our community and store culture.
Ensure content brand consistency across all retail environments.
Retail Support & Integration (20%)
Partner with Brand Retail Operations on seasonal and campaign-based retail presentation: POP, signage, visual merchandising displays, and OOH.
Provide guidance to store teams on ensure delivery of premium customer experiences. Provide support to store staff during event-related traffic.
Develop a clear framework for sales team on upcoming events and campaigns, ensuring alignment on event objectives and providing messaging that drives customer conversion.
Collaborate with store leadership to measure event ROI and customer acquisition.
Metrics of Success:
Define KPIs and establish tools to track, measure and report on success of programs, campaigns and events including:
Drive YOY traffic increase
Drive YOY sales increase
Meet or exceed new customer acquisition targets
Meet or exceed customer satisfaction goals
Meet event demand creation and budget goals
Develop programs, activations and events to meet or exceed KPI’s.
Analyze performance, draw insights, and create reporting to communicate recommendations back to leadership.
Job Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in community marketing, relevant brand owned retail, event coordination, or retail marketing—ideally in a performance, lifestyle, or outdoor brand setting.
Passion for running, fitness, and community connection.
Strong organizational skills; ability to juggle multiple projects and timelines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Professional working proficiency in English.
Proficient in event planning, grassroots outreach, and social media engagement.
Experience in retail presentation: store sets, visual merchandising displays, POP.
Comfortable working evenings and weekends to support community events.
Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and initiative.
Experience managing local partnerships or grassroots ambassador programs.
