Core Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process food and beverage sales using cash registers, scanners, or wireless equipment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout our campus locations.
  • Work closely with and provide guidance to student employees. This includes training others on the Point Of Sale (POS) systems and enforcing all store and cashier policies and procedures.
  • Assists in food production work including food prep and grab and go production. This will require proper use of kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure the highest standards in sanitary FOH procedures, condiment, coffee stations, tables, floors and trash storage are clean and always maintained.
  • Clean work areas, including counters, floors, dishes, and related equipment and ensures proper sanitary conditions.
  • Follow proper food and beverage storage, handling, and serving procedures to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment.
  • Maintain responsibility for end-of-shift security by securing POS equipment, inventory, and storage areas, ensuring all doors and cabinets are locked prior to leaving the unit.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of POS and cash handling and experience training others is preferred.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work cooperatively with others and has effective time management skills.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to follow instructions and procedures and participate in a team environment.
  • Some assigned locations will require ServeSafe certification and a Vermont Division of Liquor Control (DLC) license.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Must be able to stand for up to 4 hours continuously, as well as frequent bending and overhead reaching with twisting motions. Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs. numerous times during the day and up to 50 lbs. several times each day. Must be able to push and pull up to 70 lbs. frequently.  Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation is required.
