Responsible AI (RAI) Technical Writer Consultant

AI overview

Create high-quality technical content that enables responsible development and governance of AI systems, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders across various teams.

We're excited to welcome new team members and are only considering candidates based in Washington State and Texas for this engagement. If you are not currently located in one of these states, you will not be considered.

This role supports Responsible AI initiatives and focuses on translating complex technical, policy, and engineering concepts into clear, structured, and accessible documentation. You’ll partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders—including engineering, policy, legal, and product teams—to create high-quality technical content that enables responsible development, deployment, and governance of AI systems.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, structured, and comfortable operating in ambiguity—someone who can absorb complex material quickly, ask the right clarifying questions, and produce documentation that is accurate, consistent, and easy to consume across technical and non-technical audiences.

Please note:

  • This is a 6-month contract, with opportunity for extension.
  • It is a fully remote opportunity.

As a Responsible AI (RAI) Technical Writer Consultant for AG Consulting Partners, a typical day might include the following:

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation related to Responsible AI frameworks, policies, processes, and tooling.
  • Translate complex AI, ML, and governance concepts into clear written guidance, standards, and reference materials.
  • Partner with engineering, research, policy, legal, and product teams to gather inputs and validate technical accuracy.
  • Create and refine content such as design documents, technical guidelines, internal knowledge base articles, FAQs, and executive-ready summaries.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with Responsible AI principles, governance requirements, and internal standards.
  • Manage versioning, reviews, and approvals across multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
  • Track feedback and continuously improve documentation as requirements evolve.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Operate independently, driving work forward without needing step-by-step direction, while proactively flagging risks or gaps.

This job is for you if:

  • You excel in collaboration. You thrive in team settings, working effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership to drive projects forward.
  • You are adaptable and resilient. You embrace change, manage shifting priorities with ease, and stay composed under pressure in fast-paced project environments.
  • You possess strong problem-solving skills. You approach challenges analytically and strategically, identifying obstacles early and implementing effective solutions.
  • You have a keen attention to detail. You ensure accuracy in project plans, timelines, and deliverables, recognizing that even small details can impact project success.
  • You are an effective communicator. You can distill complex information into clear, concise updates for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment at every stage.
  • You demonstrate leadership and influence. You proactively drive initiatives, inspire collaboration, and guide teams toward achieving project objectives—even without formal authority.
  • You are results-driven. You take ownership of tasks, set measurable goals, and continuously track progress to deliver successful outcomes.
  • You are committed to continuous learning. You seek opportunities to improve project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, staying ahead in an evolving industry.

Requirements

You have:

  • 4+ years of experience in technical writing, documentation, content development, or a closely related role supporting technical, engineering, or product teams.
  • A strong track record of producing clear, accurate, and well-structured technical documentation for complex systems, tools, or processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical, policy, or AI/ML concepts into accessible content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with a bias for action—comfortable operating in ambiguity while pushing for clarity, alignment, and forward progress.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent documentation workstreams and stakeholder inputs without sacrificing quality or deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize effectively, and keep work on track without heavy oversight.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with strong attention to detail, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, research, policy, legal, and product stakeholders.

You might also have:

  • Familiarity with Responsible AI concepts, such as model governance, fairness, transparency, accountability, or risk mitigation.
  • Experience documenting internal frameworks, policies, standards, or operational processes.
