The Group Sales Manager – MICE is responsible for driving Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE) business for both Belmond Cap Juluca and Belmond La Samanna. This role focuses on proactively sourcing, converting, and managing revenue-generating MICE opportunities from key global markets. This position may be based remotely in the United States, Canada, or Brazil. 

Key Responsibilities 

1. MICE Sales & Business Development 

  • Identify, qualify, and convert MICE group opportunities (corporate meetings, incentive travel, executive retreats, brand activations, product launches, and corporate buyouts). 
  • Develop strategic sales plans for key markets, ensuring a healthy pipeline and strong conversion. 
  • Conduct sales calls, virtual meetings, roadshows, and in-market sales trips, representing both hotels to agencies, corporate clients, and event planners. 
  • Build and deliver compelling proposals that reflect the distinct identities of Cap Juluca and La Samanna while maintaining Belmond brand values. 
  • Maintain detailed and accurate reporting, pace, and forecasting in Oracle Sales Cloud and related CRM systems. 
  • Attend industry events such as IMEX, SITE and other MICE trade shows, as required. 

2. Client Relationship Management 

  • Strengthen relationships with MICE agencies, corporate accounts, and incentive houses. 
  • Serve as the commercial contact from inquiry to contract signature. 
  • Manage familiarization trips (FAMs) and site inspections in close coordination with the on-property teams. 
  • Provide exceptional service, timely responses, and thoughtful solutions to client needs. 

3. Contracting & Revenue Management 

  • Lead all aspects of the contracting process, including negotiation of rates, concessions, terms, and conditions aligned with Belmond guidelines. 
  • Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and corporate policies, including attrition, cancellation, deposit schedules, and billing accuracy. 
  • Partner with Revenue Management to develop strategies that optimize inventory, seasonal pacing, and group revenue mix. 
  • Prepare accurate weekly, monthly, and annual forecasts and activity reports 

4. Collaboration With On-Property Teams 

  • Work in close partnership with the Events & Operations teams at Cap Juluca and La Samanna to ensure seamless handovers from Sales to Events. 
  • Provide relevant client background, expectations, and program details to ensure flawless execution on the property. 
  • Organize and lead in pre-conferences (as needed) and maintain alignment throughout the event lifecycle. 
  • Support Marketing, PR, and brand initiatives that enhance visibility in the MICE segment. 

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of luxury hotel sales experience, with a focus on MICE or group sales. 
  • Strong understanding of corporate and incentive markets. 
  • Existing relationships with MICE agencies, corporate travel managers, and incentive houses are highly preferred. 
  • Proven track record in delivering revenue growth and exceeding sales targets. 
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills. 
  • Experience with Delphi, Opera, and CRM systems preferred. 
  • Ability to travel regularly for sales missions, shows, and client appointments. 
  • Fluency in English required; Portuguese, Spanish, or French is a strong asset.
