The Role

The Mortgage Talent Network is working with a lender partner to hire a Mortgage Loan Originator focused on residential lending. This role is for a relationship-builder who can generate business through referrals and community connections, consult with borrowers, and manage loan files through a compliant, well-communicated process.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Build and maintain a consistent pipeline through referral relationships, community networking, and self-generated outreach

  • Consult with borrowers to understand goals and recommend appropriate loan options

  • Complete mortgage applications and collect supporting documentation

  • Coordinate the loan file with internal operations partners to ensure smooth progression from submission through closing

  • Review files for completeness and proactively resolve missing or inconsistent information

  • Track key dates, set expectations, and provide timely status updates to borrowers and partners

  • Follow all required compliance and regulatory standards applicable to mortgage origination

  • Complete any required training/education and participate in team meetings as assigned

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • 2 + years experience originating residential mortgage loans (required)

  • Strong written/verbal communication and a consultative approach

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple active files

  • Demonstrated accountability, follow-through, and ability to work independently

  • Familiarity with common mortgage systems (LOS/AUS/CRM tools) is helpful

  • Active NMLS registration or ability to meet NMLS requirements as applicable

Education / Experience (Preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
