Residential Counselor

TLDR

Support clients with Serious Mental Illness in a 24-hour congregate setting, liaising with services and assessing environmental needs in accordance with mental health regulations.

RESIDENTIAL COUNSELORS

Beacon of Hope (BOH), a Division of Catholic Charities Community Services (CCCS), is seeking Residential Counselors to work in a 24-hour congregate setting for the 8 AM – 4 PM and 4 PM – 12 AM shifts.

Residential Counselors provide support services to clients living with Serious Mental Illness and in various stages of recovery. The Residential Counselor serves as a liaison for all other services required by clients, performs environmental assessments, and escorts clients to appointments. Performs work in accordance with Office of Mental Health regulations for Licensed Housing as well as CCCS and BOH Policies and Procedures.

This is a non-exempt hourly position based on a 40-hour work week. Hourly pay is $21.50 - 23.00 an hour ($44,720 - $47,840 annually. Pro-rated on time actually worked during the year), plus a merit-based bonus. Salary is commensurate with educational attainment.

Positions are available in the Bronx and Staten Island.

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent, bachelor's preferred
Two years of Case Management experience, preferably with SMI population
