Description: Build with Perplexity. We’re excited to announce our Resident Program for exceptional Frontend and Full Stack engineers early in their career. This is an intensive program in which you will work directly on our Product Engineering team to build and launch new features.

Highlights: 3-months, full-time, in-person in SF.

Details: This program offers a unique opportunity for recent graduates and those in the early stages of their careers to gain valuable experience in a rapidly growing AI startup. Outstanding performers will be offered a full time position at the end of the program.

• Take home project (if selected): 4/11/25 - 4/13/25

• First in-person Residency class: 6/2/25 - 8/29/25 (3 month residency)

Interview Process

1. ****Fill out the application for Perplexity Residents
2. Take Home. If selected, we’ll share take up project details on the evening of 4/11. Deadline for submission is 4/13/25 at 11:59PM PT.
3. Virtual Onsite. We will invite a handful of standout applicants to a virtual onsite interview with leaders across the company. This will involve three 45-minute interviews.
4. Offer. We’re impressed! We’d love to welcome you to our Residency program!
5. Start. We have a desk waiting you for in our San Francisco HQ! Tentative start date is 6/2/25.

Is this a full time Residency?

→ Yes, this is a full-time, 3 month, in-person residency in our SF headquarters.

Can I attend classes or do another part time job during the Residency?

→ No, this is a full-time job during the length of the Residency

Do you sponsor visas? Can I apply if I need a visa to work in the US?

→ Unfortunately we are unable to sponsor visas

What if I’m on a student visa?

→ Approval for those using OPT on student visas is not guaranteed

When will I learn the details of the take home project?

→ If selected you will be notified by 4/8. Details of the take home project will be sent on 4/11.

What requirements are needed for the take home project?

→ Just a computer, internet and a passion for building!

Can I use Perplexity to work on the take home project?

→ Yes!

How much time should I expect to spend on the take home project

• We expect that applicants can complete the project within 8 hours.
• Even if you can't dedicate 8 hours we encourage you to apply and to do your best.
• There is no limit to how much time you spend on it, as long as you submit it by the due date and time.

How will the project submissions be judged?

• Your project will be expected to meet all specified functional requirements in the project description. We will also be evaluating design, code quality and performance.
• In addition, we encourage creativity and for applicants to add their own personal touch to the project.
• Detailed functional requirements will be sent via email.

When will I know if I’m invited to the on-site interviews?

• We aim to notify applicants by 4/22

Do I need to be available for the full day for the on-site interview dates?

• We request that you reserve 9am-5:30pm PST during 4/24 and 4/25 to facilitate scheduling.
• You will have 3-4, 45 minute interviews scheduled across those two days.
• You will be notified of your interview schedule at least 2 days beforehand.

What should I expect from the on-site interviews?

• You should expect technical and non-technical interviews.
• We will send more details of the interview if you are invited to the on-site interviews.

When do residency offers go out?

• We expect to send out residency offers by 4/30

How many residency spots are there?

• We have spots for 3-5 residents in our summer class.

What if I can’t start on the start date? What if I can’t stay for the full residency?

• All residents of a given class are required to begin on the same start date and stay for the full residency term.
• The summer class will start on 6/2/25
• We understand that this start date might not work for everyone. There may be additional residency classes depending on interest, so we encourage you to still apply if you cannot make the first start date.

Is housing provided?

• Unfortunately we cannot provide housing. We plan on connecting incoming residents with each other if they would like to search for housing together.

Is health insurance provided?

• Unfortunately we cannot provide health insurance for residents. Full time employees receive full health insurance and benefits.

How many full time offers are available at the end of the residency

• There is no limit. All outstanding performers will be given a full time offer!

Can I get an extension on my take-home?

• In order to be fair to all applicants, the completed project must be submitted by the due date.
