ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. POSITION SUMMARY:
World Relief seeks an outgoing, professional and personable individual to fill the role of Resettlement Specialist. This person will provide support, services and service enrollment assistance to newly arrived refugees according to World Relief’s Mission, Vision and Values and policies, and contractual requirements. This position serves newly arriving refugees. Schedule varies depending on client needs and arrival schedules.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Support & Case Management
Conduct intake interviews and ongoing assessments to identify the needs and strengths of each family.
Maintain regular contact with clients through home visits, office appointments, and phone calls from arrival through case closure, and beyond when directed.
Develop and implement service plans that empower clients to overcome barriers and work toward self-sufficiency.
Facilitate referrals for essential services such as housing, health care, education, and employment.
Coordination & Collaboration
Work closely with colleagues, community partners, volunteers, and local churches to ensure coordinated delivery of core services.
Communicate procedures and expectations clearly to volunteers and community partners, promoting meaningful engagement and support for refugee families.
Engage and empower volunteers to enhance World Relief’s mission and expand the reach and impact of services.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate, timely, and objective case notes, case files, and required forms.
Monitor and complete all reporting requirements
Track and disperse client support funds
Ensure proper documentation of GIK (Gifts in Kind) and volunteer services.
Follow up on outstanding services or needs and document completion or reasons for delays.
Professional Conduct & Development
Uphold strict confidentiality in handling clients’ verbal, printed, and electronic personal information.
Perform all responsibilities in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner.
Stay informed about refugee and immigrant issues, available community resources, and best practices.
Attend trainings, conferences, and meetings as required.
Take on additional duties as assigned, including working occasional evenings or weekends.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Adaptable to ever changing situations and needs.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Cultural sensitivity and understanding of client confidentiality.
Must have first-hand experience with the “refugee” experience.
Experience with cross-cultural communication and the ability to work with clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and internet-based tools, is required.
Valid driver’s license and able to pass the background check and MVR.
Ability to work on some evenings and weekends.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in multicultural setting preferably with refugees or immigrants
An associate degree or two years of relevant experience—such as direct client services or case file management—is preferred.
