We are building a world-class Research team to be the strategic voice of our community. As the  Research Manager , you will be the cornerstone of this effort. You will lead a sub-team dedicated solely to understanding the hearts and minds of the people who power and use our platform: our  Driver-Partners , our users and Corporate partner, and our  Senders . This isn't just about data points; it's about human stories, on-the-ground realities, and turning empathy into actionable strategy for our Product, Operations, and Marketing teams. Key Responsibilities
  •  Lead Community-Focused Research: 

  • 1. Own the end-to-end research strategy and execution for Lalamove’s core user groups: Drivers, Customers (including corporate clients), and Senders.
    2. Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative studies to uncover deep insights into user needs, pain points, behaviors, and sentiment.
    3. Go beyond surveys: employ ethnographic field research, in-depth interviews, diary studies, and usability testing to get the full picture.

  • Operationalize Insights: 

  • 1. Partner directly with Product Managers, Designers, Operations, and Local Teams to ensure research insights are integrated into the development cycle and community initiatives.
    2. Help define and track key experience metrics that reflect community health and satisfaction.
    Who We Are Looking For
  • A Proven Empathetic Leader:  5+ years of experience in user research, with at least 2 years directly managing researchers or research projects. You have a portfolio showcasing impactful research.
  • A Skilled Communicator & Interviewer:  Exceptional ability to connect with people from all walks of life—from a freelance driver to a corporate logistics manager. You have experience with sensitive topics and building rapport quickly. Background in journalism, anthropology, or field-based research is a  strong plus .
  • Methodologically Versatile:  Proficient in a wide range of qualitative methods and comfortable with quantitative fundamentals. You know when to do a quick tactical study vs. a foundational strategic project.
  • Business-Translator:  You don't just report findings; you connect them to business outcomes, product strategy, and operational improvements.
  • Passionate About Communities:  A genuine interest in the gig economy, logistics, and understanding how technology impacts local communities. You are motivated by making a tangible difference in the lives of our users.
  • Global Mindset:  Experience researching in diverse cultural contexts, preferably within Asia. Proficiency in multiple languages is a significant advantage.
