Position Overview

The Research Coordinator will be responsible for obtaining immigration history, criminal records and/or arrest records through government agency websites following the initiation of a case with the firm. Individuals are also responsible for utilizing the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to locate and research records from the FBI, USCIS, US Customs and Border Protection, and the Office of Biometric Identity Management. Necessary skills for this role include a strong attention to detail, high levels of confidentiality, and fluency in both English and Spanish.

Schedule: Monday - Friday from 9am to 6pm EST.

Payrate: $6/hr

 

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

·        Request FOIA's for clients and potential derivates following a signed contract

·        Based on findings provided by websites or organizations, contact agencies or organizations via email or call to obtain any additional information that needs investigated or researched via outbound calls and emails

·        Identify the information needed to submit a FOIA request, inclusive of completing a cover letter, as needed.

·        Manage email boxes to ensure record requests come back in a timely manner. In the event of a lack of response from an agency or an organization, team member is responsible for following-up via email or call

·        Review record requests once received to pull high level details to provide to the Paralegals for all cases

 

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

·        Possesses excellent bilingual (English & Spanish) interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

·        Impeccable attention to detail, and process-orientated with a focus on efficiency

·        Positive attitude

·        Proven ability to meet deadlines and time manage themselves

·        Ability to prioritize tasks

 

Minimum Qualifications

·           Bilingual (Spanish English) B2-C1

·        Highschool diploma or equivalent experience

·           Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

·        Legal background required, Attorney, Paralegal, etc. preferred

 

Salary
$6 per hour
