The Research Associate works collaboratively with stakeholders and Centre for Institutional Analysis & Planning team members to design and conduct institutional research and evaluation projects at Michener. The Research Associate contributes to evidence-informed strategic decision-making by translating complex data into actionable insights that support senior leadership, strategic enrolment management, academic planning, and institutional priorities.

The Research Associate ensures that appropriate methodological approaches, statistical analyses, data visualizations, and communication tools are used to support institutional planning, program quality improvement,  accreditation and applied research initiatives.

The Research Associate leads and supports initiatives that improve institutional data governance, data quality, and automated reporting processes to enable sustainable and scalable analytics. They develop interactive dashboards and reports for diverse audiences and coordinate cross-departmental teams to build data-sharing structures that enable the integration and flow of information across the institution and with UHN partners.

  • Graduate degree preferred with minimum 3 years’ experience or an undergraduate degree with 5+years’ experience.
  • Experience in institutional research in an educational environment an asset.
  • Experience completing statistical analyses and proficiency with statistical software including SPSS, SAS and/or R.
  • Experience with data management and demonstrated ability to prepare research, reports and/or publications.
  • Able to flexibly adapt to changing priorities and manage the demands of multiple projects.
  • Able to work independently in a self-directed manner and in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability in project planning and coordination.
  • Experience translating data findings into presentations or briefing materials for senior leadership considered an asset.
  • Superior written and oral communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
  • Proficiency with MS Power BI, MS Power Automate and/or Tableau preferred.
  • Satisfactory Canadian Police Clearance document required upon hire.
