Essential Duties 

  • Perform and document laboratory work
  • Assemble/disassemble and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Synthesize, prepare and test samples according to specific methods.
  • Review data for thoroughness and accuracy and prepare simple reports 
  • Follows Lygos policies, practices and ethics in the performance of individual duties

 

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • B.S. Degree or higher in organic chemistry or polymer chemistry
  • Demonstrated experience in organic synthesis
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation to perform daily duties with little supervision after initial training
  • Basic computer skills and be comfortable with email and standard Google and Microsoft applications
  • Good communication skills to report observations, results of experiments and test details.

 

Nice-to-haves (but not required):

  • Two or more years of prior work experience in a laboratory
  • Experience in polymer derivatization and characterization, especially water soluble polymers

 

Location information:

This position is for our Hayward, CA  location.  The employee must work on-site at this location 5 days per week.  Willing to travel up to 5% of the time
