DE FUNCTIE

Binnen onze R&D afdeling zijn wij op zoek naar een Research Analist Microbiologie.

Als Research Analist Microbiologie neem je actief deel aan de onderbouwing van de werkingsmechanismen van samengestelde producten op basis van plantenextracten.  De werking van de AHV diergezondheidsproducten zijn gestoeld op verstoring van de communicatie van ziekteverwekkende bacteriën (quorum sensing inhibitie of anti-virulence strategieën), de sturing van het microbioom van de gastheer en stimulatie van het immuunsysteem.  In het lab microbiologie worden testen ontworpen en uitgevoerd om deze werking aan te tonen en producten te optimaliseren.

Je rapporteert rechtstreeks aan de Head fundamental R&D.

 VERANTWOORDELIJKHEDEN

• Uitvoeren van kwantitatieve en kwalitatieve microbiële onderzoeken;
• Up-to-date houden van literatuur kennis binnen het onderzoeksdomein;
• Het opstellen en uitvoeren van onderzoeksvoorstellen om de werkingsmechanismen aan te tonen en te verifiëren;
• Analyseren en interpreteren van verkregen resultaten;
• Opstellen van rapportages en presentaties met heldere inzichten;
• Ondersteunen bij de ontwikkeling van strategieën op basis van onderzoek en data-analyse;
• Samenwerken met interne en externe belanghebbenden om onderzoeksdoelen te realiseren;
• Algemene werkzaamheden noodzakelijk voor het functioneren van het lab.

Requirements

JOUW PROFIEL:

• Een afgeronde HBO of Masteropleiding in de richting: biologie en medisch laboratorium onderzoek. Specialisatie microbiologie is een pluspunt;
• Uitstekende analytische en probleemoplossende vaardigheden;
• Communicatieve vaardigheden en het vermogen om complexe informatie begrijpelijk te maken;
• In staat tot het bedenken, opzetten, uitvoeren en analyseren van microbiële proeven startende van literatuurgegevens;
• Ervaring in een zakelijke of onderzoeksomgeving is een pre;
• Kennis van Microsoft office pakketten;
• Goede beheersing van de Nederlandse taal, zowel in woord als geschrift;
• Goede beheersing van de Engelse taal.

THE FUNCTION

Within our R&D department, we are looking for a Research Analyst Microbiology.

As a Research Analyst Microbiology, you will actively participate in the substantiation of the mechanisms of action of compounded products based on plant extracts.  The action of AHV animal health products are based on disruption of the communication of pathogenic bacteria (quorum sensing inhibition or anti-virulence strategies), control of the host microbiome and stimulation of the immune system.  In the microbiology lab, tests are designed and performed to demonstrate these effects and optimize products.

You will report directly to the Head fundamental R&D.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform quantitative and qualitative microbial studies;
• Keeping up-to-date literature knowledge within the research domain;
• Prepare and implement research proposals to demonstrate and verify mechanisms of action;
• Analyze and interpret results obtained;
• Preparation of reports and presentations with clear insights;
• Support the development of strategies based on research and data analysis;
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve research goals;
• General work necessary for the operation of the lab.

YOUR PROFILE:

• A completed HBO or Master's degree in the direction: biology and medical laboratory research. Specialization in microbiology is a plus;
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Communication skills and the ability to make complex information understandable;
• Able to conceive, design, conduct and analyze microbial experiments starting from literature data;
• Experience in a business or research environment is a plus;
• Knowledge of Microsoft office packages
• Good command of the Dutch language, both verbal and written;
• Good command of the English language.
