The Research Analyst supports consulting, research, and model-building projects that help clients address complex workforce and labor-market challenges. This role blends strong quantitative analysis, technical expertise with tools such as Python and SQL, and economic reasoning, with the ability to turn complex data into clear, practical insights. The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, and comfortable moving between deep technical work and executive-level storytelling.
Major Responsibilities:
Perform advanced quantitative analysis using Lightcast workforce data, client datasets, and external sources to address real-world workforce, economic, and talent strategy questions
Build, clean, and manipulate complex datasets using SQL, Python, and related analytical tools
Apply economic and labor market principles to interpret trends, evaluate tradeoffs, and develop insight-driven conclusions
Translate complex analysis into clear, compelling narratives aligned to client needs and use cases
Create high-quality reports, visualizations, and presentations
Partner with project leads and client-facing teams to scope analyses, refine research questions, and ensure outputs support decision-making
Present findings to clients and internal stakeholders, responding to questions and refining analysis as needed
Contribute to a collaborative team culture by sharing knowledge, reviewing peer work, and supporting collective learning
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Public Policy, or a related quantitative field
At least 1+ years of professional experience in analytics, research, consulting, or a related role
Proficiency in SQL and Python or similar analytical languages
Strong foundation in economics, labor economics, or public policy
Experience designing, executing, and validating analytical approaches
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with working knowledge of Google Suite
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working through ambiguous questions
