Reporter

The Nassau Guardian seeks a curious, energetic reporter driven to own the lead story daily. If you are a passionate journalist who builds relationships with readers and sources to uncover the truth, keep reading. The right candidate will use public records, computer-assisted reporting skills, and a network of sources to provide in-depth coverage of important stories every day.

Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Pitch two viable, developed lead story ideas per day.
• Develop and cultivate sources.
• Must pass a pre-employment check.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum three years of reporting experience required; five years preferred.
• Some “Live Reporting” experience is preferred.
• Excellent writing and time management skills.
• Track record of developing strong relationships with a variety of sources.
• An understanding of video, digital, social, and streaming platforms is preferred.
• Must include an example of work with the application.
