In this hybrid strategic and operational role, you will balance managing day-to-day repayment reconciliation with driving long-term improvements. You will be responsible for spearheading the integration of new payment channels and automating backend processes.

Experience with payment channel vendors is essential. You must be eager to embark on automation initiatives and take a hands-on approach to integrating these channels into our business.

What will you do:

Payment Strategy & Expansion:

  • Lead the selection and integration of new payment channels suitable for consumer hire purchase (e.g., JomPAY, recurring card payments, e-wallets).
  • Manage relationships with external payment gateway vendors and financial institutions to negotiate rates and ensure service stability.

Process Automation:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement an automated repayment reconciliation roadmap.
  • Transition current manual workflows into API-driven or batch-processing models to handle high-volume consumer transactions.

Day-to-Day Operations:

  • Oversee the daily clearing and settlement of incoming repayments with high speed and accuracy.
  • Resolve unallocated payments and reconciliation discrepancies promptly.
  • Manage the operational repayment workflow to ensure customer accounts are updated in real-time.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Monitor transaction success rates and identify friction points in the payment journey.
  • Ensure all payment processes comply with regulatory standards and internal audit requirements.

Requirements

What are we looking for:

  • Experience: 5+ years in dealing with payment processing in FIs. Possess wide knowledge of different types of payment channels in the market.
  • Vendor Management: Proven track record of dealing with payment gateway providers and banks. You know who the players are and how to integrate them.
  • Technical Aptitude: You are not a developer, but you are comfortable discussing API integrations, file formats, and automation logic with the Tech team.
  • Operational Agility: Able to work hands-on with data to ensure speed in daily processing while building long-term solutions.
  • Mindset: A "fixer" mentality. You see a manual spreadsheet and immediately think about how to automate it.
