Brafton is looking for a Junior SEO strategist to join our Consulting Department and support the growing SEO team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual who is eager to build a career in SEO, developing their skills in a fast-paced agency environment.
The ideal candidate has foundational knowledge of digital marketing, particularly SEO, with an attention to detail and curiosity about the wider search landscape.
This role will focus on a key support function, assisting Senior Strategists with research, analysis and execution of tasks. The ideal candidate will be analytical and detail-oriented, possessing strong communication skills and the ability to attend and present on client-facing calls.
Responsibilities & Tasks:
Assist the SEO team in utilizing software tools to compile performance data and insights on client websites.
Help Senior Strategists compile audits and regular performance reports.
Conduct keyword research, map content opportunities, and perform on-page optimization tasks.
Leverage an understanding of Google Analytics
Be a versatile team player who can tackle various projects and collaborate with all teams.
Be a constant student of SEO who is applying their learnings to their work and sharing knowledge with internal and client-facing teams.
Qualifications:
1-2 years or more of experience in an SEO-focused role, preferably in an agency setting
A foundational understanding of SEO principles
Compelling written and verbal communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
Understanding of technical SEO concepts
Strong project management and organization skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
Basic understanding of Google Suite
Intermediate knowledge of HTML, Javascript and CSS as they impact search performance
Strong knowledge and experience using standard and enterprise search tools and platforms ( SEMRush, Sistrix, DeepCrawl, Screaming Frog, SEMRush, GTMetrix, etc.)
The ability to meet scheduled and proposed deadlines.
Comfort with and mastery of (or ability to quickly learn) spreadsheet formats (Google Sheets, Excel).
Comfort and skill with formatting professional presentations and reports in MS PowerPoint and Google Slides.
Contractors must provide their own industry hardware and a stable internet connection.
