Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret digital pathology slides for NHS cases (Placenta  specimens).
  • Provide detailed, accurate, and timely diagnostic reports that comply with NHS guidelines and standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams, pathologists, and other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive case management and patient care.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in diagnosis, ensuring that all reports are delivered within the specified timeframes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in digital pathology and NHS reporting protocols to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Support the digital pathology workflow by engaging in ongoing training and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions as needed, offering expert opinions and insights on complex cases.


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialization in Pathology.
  • Active GMC Specialist Register license.
  • Subscribed to a UK Placenta EQA scheme
  • Hold personal medical indemnity for private work in the UK.
  • Full certification and registration as a Pathologist with the relevant medical boards or councils.
  • Proven experience in diagnostic pathology, particularly in the NHS environment, with a strong understanding of NHS reporting standards.
  • Familiarity with digital pathology platforms.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases efficiently while maintaining a high standard of clinical care.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines while working remotely.
