In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the legal landscape as the first hire in a rapidly growing company in the SaaS space. Your expertise will drive acquisitions and enhance our legal framework using AI technologies. You will lead initiatives that streamline processes and enable efficient business operations on a global scale, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions while managing a lean legal operation.
Accountabilities
Lead the legal lifecycle of approximately 5 acquisitions per year, managing local counsel in Europe and North America.
Develop tax-efficient deal structures utilizing AI for modeling and compliance with international tax regulations.
Oversee management of a $100M debt facility, ensuring compliance and managing relations with lenders.
Ensure legal compliance for a workforce of 400 across multiple countries, including Germany, Canada, and the US.
Manage and develop a global Stock Appreciation Rights program.
Requirements
6-10 years of experience in a legal role, ideally within Private Equity or M&A environments.
Proficient in using AI tools to enhance and automate legal operations.
Understanding of international tax frameworks and ability to leverage AI for strategic tax planning.
Strong operational mindset focused on deal velocity and risk management.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders.
