CMG Financial is seeking a Remote Contract Benefits Specialist to provide temporary coverage during a long-term project for around 6 to 9 months. This role is essential in delivering accurate, compliant, and employee-centered benefits and leave administration. Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for answering employee questions via the Benefits email inbox.
  • Administer and support employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, wellness, retirement, disability, and related plans.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employees, benefit vendors, and insurance carriers; respond to inquiries and resolve issues with a high level of professionalism and care.
  • Manage all Leave of Absence (LOA) cases, including FMLA and other statutory or company leaves, ensuring timely approvals, documentation, communication, compliance, and return-to-work coordination.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee and benefits data within HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Partner closely with Payroll to ensure accurate benefit deductions, enrollments, and plan changes.
  • Reconcile benefit invoices and address discrepancies in collaboration with vendors and internal partners.
  • Develop and deliver employee-facing benefits communications, training materials, and presentations as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local benefits and leave regulations.
  • Provide a high level of customer service while maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgment.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience working in Human Resources supporting employees  Benefits Administration.
  • Strong working knowledge of employee benefit plans and leave regulations (FMLA, ADA, and applicable state leave laws).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with HRIS and payroll systems.

PHYSICAL and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

This role operates in an ADA compliant office environment, utilizing typical office equipment and tasks including computer work. The position may involve partial stationary positions and moving throughout the day. Flexibility to work overtime to meet project deadlines is required.

 

 

 

Base Compensation Information – This is a remote contract role that can be performed from within the United States. CMG pays a competitive hourly rate range of $29.00/hour to $33.00/hour. Factors that affect rate may include: Benefits experience, Administrative/clerical experience, HR experience, knowledge of mortgage industry, computer skills, customer service experience, and education.
