Remedial teaching facilitator (Voluntary Position)

ActionAid Hellas is offering an incredible opportunity to join their team as a volunteer and contribute to their mission of fighting poverty, inequality, and injustice.

We are seeking a Volunteer for the role of Remedial Teaching Facilitator at ActionAid's Community Center in Kolonos.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate remedial teaching lessons (Greek language and math) for primary school students
• Utilize alternative teaching approaches

• Show flexibility and adaptability in the educational needs of different student groups (special talents etc.)
• Apply effective classroom management and conflict resolution strategies
• Apply equality in the classroom and provide students with proper support for a better learning experience  
• Improve students’ literacy and numeracy skills 
• Work closely and effectively with Community Centre educational staff and the Community Centre Manager

Requirements

• Will to deal with children and their education needs
• Primary Education University student or Degree preferable
• Good communication skills, ability to deal with children’s behavioral issues and conflict resolution knowledge
• Creative approach and innovation in order to enhance motivation for learning
• Very good understanding of human rights, global poverty & development issues
