Release Engineer

Company Overview  At Hexagon US Federal we provide cutting-edge technologies and a wide range of professional services to enable our customers to make smarter and faster operational decisions and improve mission effectiveness.  Hexagon US Federal is an independent subsidiary of Hexagon Corporation exclusively focused on bringing the broad range of Hexagon technologies to the US Federal government and its partners.   Quick Hits  Employees: 300  Operating Locations: Chantilly, VA (HQ); Huntsville, AL; Lexington Park, MD, and other client sites across the US  A day in the life of a Release Engineer:  As the Release Engineer, you will be expected to maintain and enhance forty GitLab CI/CD pipelines, maintain Docker images, track  and implement software version updates, ensure app code coverage, and resolve detected software vulnerabilities flagged by customer scanners.  The ideal candidate will have experience with Linux, OpenShift and GitLab. What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):
  • Expertise in GitLab for managing code versions and collaboration with the ability to design, build, and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines
  • Experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift deployments
  • Experience with SonarQube and code coverage/unit tests
  • Experience maintaining and creating Docker images
  • Experience with Linux
  • Proficiency with Python
  • Proficiency with Java
  • Effective communication and teamwork
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Ability to respond to monitoring tools results, identify issues, and troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Required Level of Security Clearance:  Secret
    Required Experience Level: BS with 10 years or a MS with 7 years
