Regulatory Manager

We’re looking for a Regulatory Manager who will play a pivotal role in the future of our company. Our Regulatory Manager will be responsible for ensuring that Auterion-powered drone systems meet applicable European aviation and product compliance standards, enabling safe and lawful deployment across regulated markets. You’ll work closely with engineering, product, operations, and external regulatory bodies to navigate the evolving EASA landscape and ensure compliance throughout the product lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone who is meticulous, detail-oriented, and confident in managing complex regulatory frameworks in the UAV industry.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Operate in a highly regulated and evolving compliance environment, interpreting and applying changing UAV regulations and certification requirements
- Lead CE-marking activities for UAV platforms and related systems, including C0–C6 class identification and labeling requirements
- Prepare and maintain Declarations of Conformity and associated regulatory documentation for product certification and market readiness
- Conduct and support SORA (Specific Operations Risk Assessment) activities for operational approvals and deployment scenarios
- Liaise with regulatory authorities including the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA), notified bodies, and external compliance partners as required
- Work independently to manage compliance processes, documentation workflows, and regulatory submissions across multiple projects
- Support compliance readiness across complete UAV systems, including hardware, software, payload integrations, and operational use cases
- Solve complex regulatory and certification challenges involving UAV classification, operational risk, technical documentation, and conformity assessments
- Drive organizational impact by ensuring products can be legally deployed, sold, and operated within European and international markets
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, manufacturing, legal, and operations teams to integrate compliance requirements into product development processes
- Support internal audits, process improvements, and regulatory readiness initiatives to strengthen long-term compliance operations
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Aviation Law, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical/regulatory field
- Experience working with EU Regulations 2019/945 and 2019/947 within the UAV or aviation industry
- Strong understanding of EASA regulatory frameworks, CE-marking requirements, and conformity assessment processes
- Experience preparing Declarations of Conformity and technical compliance documentation
- Familiarity with SORA methodologies and operational risk assessment frameworks
- Experience interfacing with aviation authorities, regulatory agencies, or notified bodies such as the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA)
- Strong documentation, organizational, and compliance tracking skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to interpret and apply technical regulations within engineering and operational environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical, operational, and external regulatory stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple compliance initiatives simultaneously
- Analytical problem-solving skills with a meticulous and process-oriented mindset
- EU citizenship required
