As a Regulation & Compliance Associate, your tasks will include the following:

 

  • Handle appeals from candidates relating to malpractice decisions, coordinating with other teams from start to the final decision.
  • Track all appeals cases to meet standard timeframes for acknowledgement and review.
  • Engage with LANGUAGECERT’s regulators (primarily Ofqual) to ensure full visibility of their requirements and meet responsibilities.
  • Provide information and feedback to regulators as required.
  • Monitor communications from regulators.
  • Interact with regulators on notifications, data submissions, and routine reporting.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with regulators in support of LanguageCert's corporate objectives.
  • Submit weekly and monthly LANGUAGECERT data reports to our contractual relationships e.g. UK Home Office and Australian Department of Home Affairs.
  • Manage Test Point change requests.
  • Manage internal records of the LANGUAGECERT network.
  • Support the Head of Regulation & Compliance in relevant tasks.
  • Support the Regulation & Compliance Team in managing external stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure internal compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Manage LanguageCert's risk procedure and risk register.
  • Perform any other tasks relevant or required by the role.
  • Act as a goodwill ambassador for PeopleCert, maintaining professionalism in all interactions with customers and staff.

 

What we look for:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline, master’s degree, or MBA will be considered an asset.
  • Proven track record of contract/regulatory management experience, preferably in the education sector.
  • Appropriate experience of interacting with senior management staff.
  • Excellent command of the English language (C2 level certification desired, LanguageCert C2 LTE or C2 IESOL certificate would be a plus)
  • Advanced computer literacy. ECDL Advance level certification is desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A clear understanding of the importance of maintaining corporate and ethical standards.
  • Well-developed multitasking and organizational skills under tight deadlines in a fast-paced complex environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to create trust and maintain strict confidentiality.

Secure English Language Tests (SELTs) 

Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared. 

  •   If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include: 
  • A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check 
  •    Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence) 
  •    HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist     Check (CTC) 
  •   Financial background check 
  •   Employment reference check 

If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK. In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
