WSC is seeking a Northern California Regional Lead to oversee multi-disciplinary teams in the successful delivery of a diverse range of water resources projects across the region. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of WSC’s water focused business by leading client relationships, building teams, growing careers, and developing and driving business strategies.

The ideal candidate will be based in, or willing to relocate to the greater Sacramento area and will work from our office in Folsom, California. We offer a flexible hybrid work model. Occasional travel throughout California and the Pacific Northwest may be required.

What You Will Do

  • Provide strategic vision, oversight and leadership within the geographic region
  • Lead regional strategy, staff planning & hiring, budgeting, and financial planning in coordination with WSC’s Practice Areas and managers within the region
  • Lead risk management & issue escalation/resolution within the region
  • Maintain visibility and drive performance & accountability on regional metrics and goals (e.g. bookings, backlog, staffing, workload, UT)
  • Lead regional BD & marketing planning & execution
  • Guide team culture and support staff well-being
  • Lead and/or oversee multi-disciplinary teams to successfully deliver planning, design, and/or program management projects of varying sizes.
  • Oversee client service management and strengthen existing client relationships through exceptional project delivery, development of new client relationships, and identification of future business opportunities. 
  • Lead project pursuits including proposal development and interview preparation.
  • Stay active and visible in professional organizations to stay abreast of current and emerging industry trends. 
  • Lead and mentor professionals with various levels of experience. 
  • This position will require some travel throughout California.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • P.E. registration in California
  • Strong leadership skills and proven experience leading thriving and diverse teams
  • Experience delivering successful and collaborative projects performance that achieves clients’ goals, including cost-effective, sustainable, energy-efficient, operator-friendly, and innovative outcomes.
  • 10+ years of experience in planning, design and/or construction of water, wastewater and or recycled water facilities. Planning or design experience preferred.
  • Demonstration of understanding and defining project goals and requirements as well as proactive risk management.
  • A team first mindset that collaborates with, learns from, and teaches others, and are active in creating a positive team dynamic.
  • Active participant in related professional associations and knowledge of the latest industry treatment trends.
  • Desire to operate with freedom and accountability. A willingness to take measured risks and ownership of those risks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience writing proposals and presentations, technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and miscellaneous contract documents.
  • Project workshop leadership with experience facilitating alternatives analysis and decision-making meetings.
  • Development of sustainable solutions and alternatives project delivery methods is a plus.
  • Ability to serve as a dedicated and effective client service partner and demonstrate responsiveness, clear communication, quality delivery, mindful listening, and problem-solving skills.
  • Passionate about mentoring and advocating within our team.

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is competitive at $190,000 to $280,000 and will be based on experience and qualifications.
