Regional Sales Manager

TLDR

Drive revenue growth and expand customer base through strategic planning and leadership while fostering a high-performing sales culture with a focus on team development.

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is a dynamic leader responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding our customer base within a defined market segment. This role combines strategic planning, team development, and hands-on sales execution to exceed performance targets and foster a high-performing, engaged sales culture. 

Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Growth & Execution 

  • Collaborate with sales leadership to define and implement a market-specific demand generation strategy. 
  • Drive revenue growth by expanding existing accounts and identifying new opportunities within the assigned customer segment. 
  • Drive revenue growth by coaching and enabling Sales Representatives to consistently close deals within the assigned regional Total Addressable Market (TAM) 

Team Leadership & Development 

  • Coach, train, and mentor a team of 6–12 sales representatives on outbound techniques, product positioning, and opportunity identification. 
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning to support individual growth and team success. 
  • Lead recruiting, onboarding, and succession planning efforts to build a scalable, future-ready team. 

Sales Operations & Enablement 

  • Leverage performance data to guide daily activity metrics and optimize team productivity. 
  • Utilize sales technology (e.g., Salesforce, Outreach) to scale outreach and enhance engagement. 
  • Provide real-time feedback through call shadowing, reviewing, and deal support, including presentations and negotiations. 
  • Provide real-time feedback through call coaching and deal support including pipeline generation, conducting demos and negotiations.

Culture & Collaboration 

  • Foster a culture of accountability, creativity, and continuous improvement. 
  • Partner with HR and sales leadership to address performance and employee relations matters. 
  • Act as a brand ambassador, embodying company values and mission in all interactions. 

Basic Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • 2+ years of experience in sales management, ideally within a SaaS or payments environment. 
  • 3+ years of successful sales experience with a proven track record of exceeding targets. 
  • Strong coaching, motivational, and leadership skills. 
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with consistent follow-through. 

Desired Characteristics 

  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Outreach, and other CRM/sales enablement platforms. 
  • Experience operating within a defined market segment in SaaS or payments. 
  • Strong communication and forecasting skills with a strategic mindset. 

Additional Requirements 

  • Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-VERSANT worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence. 
  • Travel: Must be able to travel domestically as needed for business meetings, training sessions, and team events, occasionally on short notice. Travel may be required by air or ground transportation.
  • This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Compensation: The salary range for this role is $80,000 - 85,000 + Commission.
