The Regional Director of Art – APAC is a senior creative and organisational leader responsible for elevating artistic excellence across our growing art teams in Australia and Singapore. With a proven background as an Art Director on high-calibre titles, this role drives vision, capability development, and cross-studio consistency, while ensuring our teams deliver world-class assets across AAA, mobile, and emerging platforms.

The Regional Director is responsible for upholding high artistic standards, developing leaders, and collaborating with global Liquid Art - such as those in North America and Europe - to achieve strategic alignment, recognition, and sustained growth. This role requires a hands-on creative leader who can inspire, set standards, and scale a multi-discipline art organisation of 25+ artists across multiple studios.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the Regional Director of Art – Liquid Gold role can be broken down into the following key responsibilities:

Organisational Leadership & Creative Strategy

  • Lead the artistic vision and growth strategy for the APAC art organisation, ensuring alignment with global Liquid standards and long-term business goals.
  • Provide strong creative direction across multiple art disciplines, acting as a senior escalation point for quality, style, and technical execution.
  • Build a cohesive regional art identity through high-level communication, collaboration, and influence across studios and global partners.
  • Mentor and develop Art Leads, Senior Artists, and future leaders across the region.

Art Quality, Execution & Delivery

  • Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across all art teams and disciplines, including 3D, concept, animation, UI/UX, and technical art.
  • Review pipelines, evaluate project quality benchmarks, and implement improvements to raise artistic and operational standards.
  • Partner with production to forecast workload, shape creative staffing needs, and support successful project delivery across multiple titles.
  • Provide expert guidance on creative problem-solving, stylistic alignment, and client expectations for AAA and major IPs.

Cross-Regional Collaboration

  • Integrate with Liquid North America and work closely with other Keywords Art Studios (i.e. - Mindwalk, Lakshya, Red Hot, and Volta) to share best practices, align workflows, and strengthen global cohesion across the Keywords Create art network.
  • Support cross-regional resourcing, knowledge-sharing, and the integration of new capabilities or technologies into the APAC art ecosystem.

People, Culture & Development

  • Champion a culture of artistic excellence, inclusion, and continuous creative development across APAC.
  • Partner with People & Culture teams to build structured growth pathways for artists at all levels.
  • Identify high-potential talent and nurture future leaders through coaching, portfolio feedback, and development plans.
  • Prior experience as an Art Director or Senior Art Director on multiple shipped AAA or high-quality titles.
  • 10+ years in professional game art roles, with at least 5 years in leadership positions overseeing multi-disciplinary art teams.
  • Deep understanding of art pipelines—including concept, modelling, texturing, lighting, animation, VFX, and technical art.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide, mentor, and grow large creative teams (25+ artists).
  • Strong client-facing experience and ability to communicate creative solutions to global partners.
  • Expertise implementing scalable art workflows, quality standards, and creative pipelines across multiple studios.
  • Experience influencing cross-regional teams and aligning with global best practices.
  • Graduate degree or equivalent experience in Art, Design, Animation, or related fields preferable
