In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.

We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across 9 countries and are growing fast.

How you'll help us achieve it

We are hiring two Recruiters, one in Abidjan and another in either Ouagadougou or Bamako. In this role, you will play a key role in building strong, diverse teams by owning end-to-end recruitment processes across multiple functions. You will partner closely with hiring managers and People Partners to understand hiring needs, deliver an excellent candidate experience, and ensure that hiring decisions align with Wave’s values, standards, and long-term goals.

In this role, you’ll;

Own the full-cycle recruitment for roles across departments, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and closing.
Act as a dedicated sourcer: build and maintain diverse, high-quality talent pipelines through direct outreach, creative sourcing strategies, and networking.
Partner with hiring managers to deeply understand team needs and design tailored recruiting strategies.
Ensure our ATS (Greenhouse) is up to date, accurate, and a reliable source of recruiting insights.
Track, analyze, and share recruiting metrics to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Take initiative to identify bottlenecks and implement creative improvements to the recruitment process.
Act as a cultural ambassador, ensuring candidates experience Wave’s values throughout their journey and upholding a high bar for talent.

Key details

Location: You'll work from our office in Abidjan or Ouagadougou/Bamako.
Work authorization is required in Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, or Mali.
This is a permanent position.

Requirements

3+ years of demonstrated ownership of full recruitment cycle ; progressive work experience in the areas of talent acquisition/recruitment in an international high-growth company will be an added advantage.
Strong communication skills (written and spoken) required.
Experience with online networking tools, such as LinkedIn, and conducting searches in recruitment databases to identify and access new professional networks is strongly preferred.
Proven ability to work effectively in a very fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities in a global business culture.
Experience using ATS software is a must, preferably Greenhouse.
Experience with modern tech tools such as Google Calendar, Slack, and Zoom is an added advantage.
Experience recruiting in Côte d’Ivoire or West Africa is a strong plus.
Fluency in French and English.
