About the Role:

The Recovery Specialist is responsible for the collection of delinquent auto loan accounts that are currently or about to be assigned for repossession. This role utilizes telephone, automated dialers, and written correspondence in a fast-paced, goal-oriented collections department. You will be accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts and skip tracing to locate accounts that are assigned for repossession. This is a specialized role focused on repossession.

What You’ll Do:

  • Confer with customers by telephone in an attempt to collect current and past due payments, determine reasons for delinquency, and update customer information.
  • Adhere to collection standards of conduct policy on all accounts including third parties.
  • Follow all federal and state collections laws.
  • Utilize collection skip tools to locate accounts leading to resolution.
  • Recommend accounts for repossession or legal action.
  • Maintain delinquent rates at or below objectives.
  • Meet daily and weekly production goals (calls, repossessions, and dollars collected).
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as required.

Nice to Have:

  • 2+ years of experience in skip tracing within an auto finance environment.
  • Familiar with repossession and skip tracing laws.
  •  A flexible mindset as a start-up, we are growing quickly and you may need to adapt to changing policies and procedures while maintaining high quality work output.
  • Excellent time management and work prioritization skills while managing multiple projects.
  • Capability of completing assigned tasks with careful attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced and changing environment with ease and with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding production and quality expectations.
