Recovery and Enforcement Support Intern

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Recovery & Enforcement Intern. This role is primarily focused on debt recovery operations, with the opportunity to gain hands-on, practical legal exposure in litigation and enforcement processes in Malaysia.

You will gain insight into how recovery strategies are executed—from early-stage collection efforts to legal enforcement and litigation, and have the opportunity to work with external legal counsel and third party recovery agencies.

What will you do:

Recovery & Enforcement Operations Support

  • Analyse portfolio performance and recovery trends
  • Support the management of delinquent accounts and execution of recovery efforts including tracking, follow-ups, and coordination
  • Assist in monitoring repayment progress and implementation of restructuring arrangements and recovery strategies
  • Liaise with external legal counsel and other external parties on recovery and litigation matters
  • Support preparation, review and summarisation of recovery and litigation-related documents
  • Support the filing of all cause papers and monitor compliance with court deadlines
  • Support coordination of litigation-based recovery actions, including judgment enforcement
  • Maintain and support continuous improvements on records, trackers, and reporting for recovery and enforcement cases, including supporting enhancements and new tracker development
  • Undertake any other tasks as may be assigned from time to time within the scope of the role

Hands-on Enforcement & Regulatory Exposure

  • Gain practical exposure to litigation-based recovery processes, including supporting the preparation and review of cause papers (e.g. statements of claim, affidavits, enforcement documents), under the guidance of the Legal team
  • Develop understanding of enforcement and asset recovery strategies in practice
  • Gain practical exposure to the practical steps and processes that facilitate enforcement actions, including:
  • Supporting processes involving JPJ (vehicle ownership / enforcement checks)
  • Land Office searches and dealings (e.g. title verification, encumbrances)
  • Stamp Office processes and documentation requirements

Requirements

What are we looking for:

  • Undergraduate(s) in Law are preferred but this role is open to all backgrounds (Law, Business, Finance, Tech or others) – anyone keen to gain hands-on experience is encouraged to apply
  • Strong interest in collections, litigation, recovery, or fintech
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and proactive
  •  Comfortable working in a fast-paced, execution-focused environment

This internship comes with a monthly allowance of RM1,000.
