Real Estate Accountant/Controller - with AppFolio Experience

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Pacific Time Zone with a 1-hour unpaid break

Salary: TBD

Work Experience: Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in a similar field with a US-based client.

Job Overview: 

As a real estate accountant, you will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our properties. Your role will involve creating and reviewing budgets, managing accounts payable and receivable, developing incentive plans for leasing agents, and calculating monthly property management fees. You will also be responsible for reporting to the owners and managing tasks through AppFolio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Create and manage monthly budgets for property management.
• Oversee cash management processes and review quarterly projection schedules to optimize liquidity.
• Implement internal controls, policies and procedures driving operational efficiency and risk mitigation.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable efficiently.
• Develop and implement a bonus plan for leasing agents.
• Calculate monthly property management fees.
• Regularly report financial and operational updates to the property owner.
• Utilize AppFolio for various property management tasks.
  

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in AppFolio is a critical requirement for this role. We kindly request that only candidates with strong AppFolio experience apply.
• Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in a similar field with a US-based client.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards within the property management industry.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Candidates will be required to pass a background screening.
