The Reagents Global Commercial Manager is responsible for leading and executing the commercial strategy of the Reagents business across international markets. This role ensures alignment between commercial operations, supply chain, pricing, and strategic growth initiatives. The manager will drive profitability, commercial efficiency, and market expansion while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.

 

The role focuses on achieving short- and long-term volume and margin targets, while building and maintaining multi-level relationships across existing, past, and prospective customers. A key aspect of the role is gathering and leveraging customer intelligence and stakeholder insights to understand competitive positioning.

 

This position will have 5-7 direct reports and 6-10 indirect reports.  The position will report to the Group Chief Commercial Officer.

 

In order to be qualified for this position you must possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • MBA preferred.

Preferred Work Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in commercial roles within mining or chemical or related industries.

Key Accountabilities:

 

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and communicate a clear commercial vision that aligns with the company’s global objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives to drive innovation, market competitiveness, and long-term growth.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to shape corporate strategy and translate it into actionable commercial plans.
  • Monitor global market dynamics and adjust strategies proactively to maintain competitive advantage.

 

Market Development

  • Identify and evaluate new market segments, geographies, and customer profiles for expansion.
  • Lead product positioning and differentiation strategies tailored to regional market needs.
  • Develop go-to-market plans
  • Build strategic partnerships and alliances to enhance market access and visibility.

 

Commercial Operations

  • Oversee end-to-end commercial processes including order management, customer service, and logistics coordination.
  • Optimize supply chain efficiency by working closely with procurement, production, and distribution teams.
  • Implement digital tools and platforms to streamline commercial workflows and improve customer experience.
  • Ensure accurate and timely execution of contracts, including terms negotiation, renewals, and compliance tracking.

 

Financial Oversight

  • Lead pricing strategy development based on cost analysis, market trends, and competitive benchmarking.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess commercial performance and identify improvement areas.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate revenue forecasting and margin management.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives without compromising product quality or customer satisfaction.

 

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Stay abreast of international trade laws, environmental regulations, and industry standards affecting NaCN manufacturing.
  • Develop and enforce internal policies to ensure ethical business practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments across commercial operations to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Lead crisis management planning and response for commercial disruptions, including supply chain interruptions or regulatory changes.

 

Team & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing commercial teams across multiple regions, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish clear performance metrics and KPIs to drive team effectiveness and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between sales, marketing, supply chain, finance, and R&D to ensure cohesive execution of commercial strategies.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within global teams, promoting a respectful and inclusive work environment.
  • Act as a key liaison between executive leadership and regional commercial teams, ensuring transparent communication and alignment on priorities.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with strategic customers, distributors, and industry partners to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings to strengthen brand presence and market intelligence.
  • Resolve conflicts and manage stakeholder expectations with diplomacy and strategic foresight.



Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry, engineering (Mining, Chemical, Mechanical), or related field.
  • Mining industry and mining processes
  • Sales and Commercial processes
  • Language: English primary, Spanish and Portuguese preferred
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in commercial roles within mining, chemical, or related industries.
