The Association of Test Preparation, Admissions, and Private Tutoring (TPAPT) is seeking a dedicated Reading Therapist to support students in Grades 1-5 in their literacy development. Location: Remote

Classification: Contract (1099)

Compensation: $35/hr-$45/hr

The Role:

  • Provide individualized reading therapy sessions to students in Grades 1-5 using evidence-based instructional strategies.
  • Assess students' reading abilities to identify specific areas of need and develop targeted intervention plans.
  • Implement engaging and effective literacy activities that motivate students and promote reading comprehension and fluency.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods as needed to ensure growth.
  • Collaborate with parents and educators to share student progress and align on strategies for support.
  • Create a positive and nurturing learning environment that encourages student confidence and a love for reading.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Reading, Special Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Earned SPED or Reading Intervention certification
  • Experience in reading instruction or intervention for elementary school students.
  • Knowledge of effective reading strategies and assessment tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, parents, and educators.
  • Ability to build rapport and inspire young learners to achieve their reading goals.
  • Flexible availability, including potential after-school and weekend hours.
