To support this mission, Syngenta's Product Biology Team is seeking an R&D Entomologist to conduct and manage early-stage research trials at our Vero Beach Research Center. The ideal candidate will specialize in insect control research and pest management, with potential to expand into ornamentals and turf markets.

Accountabilities:

  • Implement early-development research trials, focusing on insect control research in pest management with opportunities to expand into ornamentals and turf markets.
  • Conduct and coordinate high-quality efficacy trials, contributing to the biological profiling and label development of new and registered product concepts.
  • Lead or contribute to project planning and defining experimental objectives, ensuring trial implementation, and generating or acquiring data and information.
  • Summarize trial data and provide development recommendations; identify development opportunities for product label expansion, new uses, new solutions, and marketing needs.
  • Provide technical support and training; coordinate demonstration trials for internal and customer training and education.
  • Provide technical data and information in support of special local, state, and regional labeling actions.
  • Leverage emerging digital technologies to optimize research processes, improve experimental accuracy, and streamline data capture.

Required:

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates must already be located in the United States and not require visa sponsorship now or in the future (includes OPT).

  • Ph.D. (or M.S. with 3+ years of experience) in entomology. Training and experience in applied urban entomology is a benefit.
  • Experience conducting lab and field trials to evaluate efficacy of control products and related experimental techniques.
  • Strong background in statistical analysis and experimental design.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.

Desired:

  • Experience in urban entomology and pest management.
  • Knowledge of agricultural systems and plant breeding, particularly in ornamentals.
  • Familiarity with crop protection products and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with digital data collection tools and agricultural technology.

Salary for the role is $86,400 - $108,000 per year.
