The Advanced Development team is responsible for early-stage development and risk retirement of high risk and high reward design concepts. This team will develop proven ideas that work into the product development pipeline. The team works with a hands-on fail-fast approach, iterating through various ideas to develop solutions that have a significant impact on kidney stone management. 

In This Role, You Will: 

  • Develop and evaluate mechanical and/or electro-mechanical concepts for improved kidney stone treatment 
  • Improve benchtop simulations by researching and evaluating clinical use conditions, patient anatomical challenges and current kidney stone treatments 
  • Use SolidWorks, rapid prototyping and basic prototyping to create models, test fixtures and device improvements 
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to create solutions that best meets product and/or user needs 
  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Sr. R&D Engineer, Advanced Development

Requirements: 

  • EducationRecent graduate or current junior/senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or related field 
  • Work location: Pleasanton, CA 
  • Travel:  Minimal (~5%) 
  • Full time employment 
  • Proficiency in 3-D modeling software (Solidworks Preferred) and Microsoft Office 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Eagerness to learn and accept challenges 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities and adapt to change 
  • Ability to solve problems and analyze data 
  • Ability to think and work independently and in teams 
  • Compliance with relevant county, state, and Federal rules regarding vaccinations.

We also offer a compensation plan as follows:

  • Competitive hourly rate of $28/hr (undergrad) - $30.00/hr (graduate students)
